OREO continues #ProudParent campaign with release of new film and first-of-their kind limited edition cookies

OREO, with the support of PFLAG National and their shared mission to spark family connections, created the #ProudParent campaign to celebrate allies, foster inclusivity and champion the idea that, collectively, we can help make the world a more compassionate place, where all families belong.

For over 100 years, the sandwich cookie brand has been celebrating families by creating and encouraging playful moments that spark connections across generations. OREO and PFLAG National, the first and largest organisation dedicated to bringing LGBTQ+ people, their parents and families, and allies together in the US kicked off their partnership in June 2020.

Together, the two will continue to shine a light on the importance of a supportive family in fostering greater LGBTQ+ acceptance and provide a platform that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and the allies that lift them up.

In celebration of October’s LGBTQ+ History Month in the US, OREO is building on their #ProudParent platform. OREO and PFLAG National developed a film titled Proud Parent. The film shows the love between Jen and Amy, exploring parent-child relationships and the challenges of bringing a partner home for the first time – especially for the LGBTQ+ community.

It tells the story of love, family ties, and celebrating authenticity, while championing the notion that a loving world starts with a loving home. The emotional Proud Parent film celebrates the important role of parental and community support in fostering greater LGBTQ+ acceptance.

Additionally, the brand released 10,000 first-of-their-kind Limited Edition #ProudParent OREO Rainbow Cookies via giveaway to reward acts of allyship for the LGBTQ+ community.

Each pack featured seven different colored creme fillings, inspired by the colors of the Pride flag and marking the first time OREO created a pack featuring cookies with varying creme colors. Fans were called to participate in the #ProudParent campaign by sharing a photo of what allyship means to them on Instagram or Twitter in order to be eligible to receive the pack.
